"Holy Mackeral" Nice dime box!!! :fish: :laughing9:

I never rush the tellers when I request coin, I tell them to take their time.

Why would I tell them that?
I tell them to take their time since it is their decision whether to sell me the box of coins or not. I like to stay on their good side, even if I am in a hurry, I tell them to take their time.

:)

p.s. also, as a side note, I don't know if the things are the same in Canada, but banks near me, the tellers are required to only go in the vault with 1 other person, they cannot go into the vault by themselves. I just learned this, it's probrably to make sure nothing is stolen, like supervision.

I never rush the tellers either and I try to stay on the good side but to make an observation they were far slower than other times.

I get the same thing, sometimes they are less than 1 minute, other times I wait 4-5 minutes. Always have the teller on your good side.

The 2 teller deal simple. The banks in my area, the vault requires 2 codes to open it. Each teller has a code.

Whatever happen to the Canadian government culling coins from earlier metals? :icon_scratch: I thought they were doing that.

They say they do but that means the coins need to make it to the mint in order to be culled. There are two mint locations in Canada, Winnipeg and Ottawa, while I live in Saskatoon, which is in a different province than the mints and is far enough away. There are also no Bank of Canada locations in my province so the only time the mint sends something my way is when the coins are brand new. 95% of my rolls are cwr, all brinks really does it distribute coins from one place to another, the way they were received. There are also no coin counters in any banks so customers must roll their own coins. So in my part of the country I don't know of any coins that get sent to the mint, at least before I can check them.
