I only had a couple hours so didn't get a lot really. I did find a 1879 Indian Head Penny, a lice comb, more clay marbles and a bunch of harmonica reeds. Also a piece of a clay pipe and a part of a stem. Several buttons come out and a neat very small glass bottle stopper. I also have dug several of these slate pieces, they have been sharpened like a pencil, anyway not sure but I assume they were used for writing?. Hope everyone had some luck this weekend.

Those are some nice looking finds man. You got some great CW sites. This is your season to man. I expect to see some great finds this fall.

Nice finds. Looks like you are on a good site for relics. Good luck.

I think your right on the slate/graphite pieces. They look like the old "pencils" that were used to write on a a table (made of slate also?) Those slates or tablets were usually framed in wood. I do think those are the old school pencils though. Nice finds.

love them relics :icon_thumleft: nice IH MR TUFF

I've been told the graphite rods are from old street lights. All the ones I've found have been near old street lights except one. Did you find them near an old street light? I would like to know for sure one day! I do love the harmonica reeds and marbles. Some silver should be there as well.

Nice finds T! I have found several of those slate pencils here in Germany, yours is the first I can remember ever seeing like mine. Could that area have been German? HH, Mike
