Today’s Finds xx 🥶

Blimey it was chilly out in the fields today, no frost so back to the slimy mud…still the constant scrapping of the boots and shovel does keep you warm!

Well last week I said I’d never found a Silver thimble… so today the field gave me one! Bit squashed but hey! So I’m going to say now, I have never found a gold hammered!!! 🤞!! Then I found a little gunpowder measure and a pot leg, himself found this bridle boss (?) then a strap fitting (?) spoon handle and buckle bits, lots of buttons, and 2 very sad looking pre dec.

Tomorrow if there isn’t a frost we are off to seek our fortune in some new grass fields… I always love a new field …so let’s hope that gold hammered is ready to be unearthed 😄 xx

That's a sweet looking thimble alright. Funny how you got what you wished for. I'm hoping you get the hammered as well!

Yeah , mehh anyone could find a silver (gorgeously detailed too!) thimble. A gold one would indeed be noteworthy. L.o.l..

Congrats on the silver thimble, a rarer recovery for sure.
Well worth the trudging around.

Oh the sticky clay, add a bit of straw, and it's a wonder to be clomping around.
Have you ever noticed after awhile of heavy muck on the boots, then clean them off how light the step feels.
( I would ask for Himself to bring a 30 meter runner, roll it out in front of you.
Much nicer to walk on than the sticky mud)
