Today's finds. Beautiful brooch, 1906 IH and other odds and ends.

Snow was just about gone on Sunday then we got hit again with another snow storm. I really am tired of this snow! Anyway my buddy Chris and I got out today and did okay. He found a nice cut 1727 pistareen first thing this morning but got skunked the rest of the day. I was skunked this morning, but got into some nice early 1900's stuff. Not as old as like, but a 1906 Indian head and some early household stuff, couple fired cw bullets, the one is very nicely mushroomed. The best find was the brooch. After a cleaning it sure shined up nice. Thanks for looking and HH!

Very nice finds

That brooch is beautiful Matt! You sound like me, if you're not into a late 18th early 19th century site you're not liking it. But that brooch should put a smile on your face.

love the brooch! gz on finds!

Not my favorite time period either Matt but a nice group of finds. Shows your detecting versatility-LOL. I hope you can get out again soon to hunt. WTG, Q.

Matt - glad you were able to squeeze in a short hunt between all the snow. The weather has definitely been a limiting factor this winter even down this way. I really like that little brooch, and it cleaned up nice. I assume it also dates to the early 1900s. Hope you guys can make it out again soon.

Very nice finds! Congrats on getting out and MD'ing!

My goodness! That is a pretty brooch! Must've been spectacular when new!

Nice!

Thanks guys. While were getting hit with ice and snow its a good time to do some cw and colonial site research.

Hey Matt , The "brooch" looks to me to be half of a two part buckle - the way the back parts are structured - just my first take on it - great finds !

Make that another in the sash buckle camp. And a real beauty it is! I would be not at all insulted, were you to show several more photos, please. Is it enamel?

PS: I wanna see a better photo of that painted China marble, too, please.

You guys could be right. I'll get some pictures up. The marble was in a hole I dug a piece of trash out of. I thought it was a bulb at first like from a plant. lol
