Today's finds and recent digs. Could use an ID on a button! Copper+Silver!

Here's a mix of today's finds and some stuff I've dug this past week. I'm really curious about the button with the letter N on it. The back says, "Browning King & Co." I found it today at an old field that's been pounded over the years. I'm also not too sure on that holed piece if anyone has a clue.

Doesn't look like that place has been hunted too much if you're finding things like that. Congrats on the awesome digs!

Are you anywhere near Quincy? That's where I grew up but I never bring my detector when I go back to visit family. After seeing those finds, I'll be sure to bring it.

Photos 3 and 4 are a crotal bell.

Not sure about the "N" button...

But in your second batch of photos, photos #5 and 6--the piece with the hole in it and a patent date is a turn knob off an oil lantern.

Two photos below that, bottom left is a part of a two-piece sash belt buckle that dates to the 1850s.

And in your very last photo, the flat piece of brass with the nail holes in it is half of a heel plate from a boot that had a heart cut-out cast into the brass.

Cool finds!

Thanks. I actually did a bit of research on the name and the man died in the early 1900's. (assuming it's the same T.C. Vaughan) There's an eagle on the tag too ???

@joeyfresh: I'm very, very close to Quincy. Drop me a line when you're heading back.

@herbie: I read that Royal Danish is some quality stuff. Some of their sets sell for outrageous money.

I have an id tag that appears to be exactly like yours. The house is still here. HMN says 20's to 40's. and I would gut agree, but how about Breezie or Big Cy? They would know without gut feelings. Someone was a great travelling salesman, either for the tags, or for the machine to make them. I would mind having one today and make tags like that. Could be a hit at street fairs and County fairs. These back then were seriously stamped, no engraving involved..
