Hey CoinHunter - I have found stuff before and never made it home with it - go figure - Happy hunting

Don't tell anybody, but I lost my wedding ring metal detecting Hampton Beach. Of course, I would never admit it. H Digs :)

Some things just want to stay lost.

I think this has happened to a lot of us whether we want to admit it or not.

But it does give us comfort in knowing that people loose things all the time. That we wont be running out of stuff to find.

Oh yeah. I found a ring in the parking lot last fall. It looked like gold so I was disappointed when I checked in it the car and couldn't find a mark. As I was twirling it to check, it popped out of my and and somewhere on the floorboard. I looked for it, but not too hard because I thought it was just junk. A few months later, when cleaning the car out, I found the band stuck into the back of the floor mat. Checked it again, no marks, and stuck it on my thumb so I'd remember to bring it inside to check with a magnifying glass....and twenty minutes later when I got home, the ring was no longer on my finger and it was no where in the car. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I was changing purses and there was the band. This time it made it to the magnifying glass, and sure enough it was 10k.

I hunted my old "hunted out park" spot for an hour and a half and found a 1940 mercury dime and four wheat pennies. I put them in my pants pocket. When I got home all I had was three wheat pennies. Dangit! They must have come out with my keys...I will try to find them next time I go back. Any one else have this happen? Doh!
Could've been worse. You might have gotten back to the car and found no keys, like I did!!! :)

HH!

Well Susan, I'm glad your ring wasn't lost forever. Now it's easy to see how all those coins and rings we are finding got lost in the first place!

my wedding ring came out with my keys and i drove away and called the wife and said i lost the ring. but i went back and it was where i parked

I have stuck a couple coins BEHIND my apron, instead of in the pocket. Especially when wearing gloves.

A couple of times doing that, and I am much more careful now.

Yesterday, I lost a 1969 Kennedy Half Dollar. There was this real nice lady who let me md her front and back yard, and she was interested in what I was doing and finding. I thought she was so nice, that I would give her a Kennedy Half 40%er, but before I could give it to her, I lost it somewhere between her house and the neighbors across the street? I really hate loosing money, especially since I started metal detecting. Oh well.
