Today's finds 5-2-08
Bought 100 worth of loose from a bank today. When I got there they said they had to roll them for me, even though I said I would take them loose ( I had my trusty canvas bag with me). Anyway, I could hear them in the back counting them, and I could hear them hitting the table as they rolled them. Every now an then I heard the distinctive sound of a silver coin "Ping". Wound up with 12-40%
and 1-64. They said it took one year to build up the 100 in loose coins. Obviously no CRHers dumping there. Also found a 1999 S proof that appears to be 100% silver (the rim is shiny as a BU 64). I need to check online to see if they made any of these in silver. It is in good shape.
A few of the tellers said they had never even seen a half dollar before.
PS. Bought a bunch of 1 Oz. Silver Maples today at .80 over spot. Years range from 1988 to 2008. Most in original plastic and without toning. This to me is like hitting a "dream" box, even though the silver was not free.
