Got out again today for a little hunt at the ball fields / hiking trail. Got hit with a 10-minute sleet storm when I first arrived. Once that was over, I decided to hit the grassy areas in the loops of the walking trail. The fields were soaked from yesterday's rain (1.86 inches). I stuck around in the first field long enough to find two Cub Scout neckerchief slides and two quarters. As soon as I opened a plug, the bottom was all water.
I moved on to the pond area as I had not hunted there before either. The ground was dryer but there wasn't much to find. Finished out my two-hour hunt in the area of the pavilion. Always coins to be had there. I normally only find modern clad there, today was different. I found a 1946 wheatie under a rock. Maybe there are some older silver hiding under rocks in that park after all?
Thanks for looking...
