Today's Finds 11-8-05 Weird Rock makes detector sound off.

Went out today for the first time in a long time.? Went to several parks within about 30 minutes of my house.? Didn't find anything worth mentioning except for some pocket change and several rocks that made my detector sound off.? I have attached a picture of the rocks and there was one in particular that really made my detector go off.? It is the grey looking one just above the quarters.? (Don't think you would be able to see it if I took a close up.)?

I had a good day and hope to be able to go to a ghost town about 1.5 hours from my house.?
There are two buildings still standing, the General Store and the Train Depot.? They look very inviting, just hope it is still public land I can hunt on.? Pictures attached of location.? Will keep you all posted after I visit this Wednesday or Thursday.

Cool finds Wasabi. And nice pictures. Your rocks are known as hot rocks. They will set your detector off. The wierd one may be aluminum foil that has been in a fire. Were the other rocks in the same area. Sometimes certain Rocks that have been in a fire or very high heat become a hot rock and will set off the detector. Congrats on the finds....Lance

Those hot rocks don't look like any that I have dug around here, not a clue...
Them square nails are alway a good sign. And that site looks awesome...

Cool buildings......wish I could go with ya! Thanks for the info on the hot rocks guys. I have found 3 or 4 of those myself and couldn't figure out what they were.

The photos of the old General Store & Depot would give ANY detectorist goosebumps. You can be sure they have been detected many times in the past by others, but NO ONE gets it all !! Keep at it there ( and mix up your search patterns occasionally ) .... you are sure to find more.

great lookin site, id crack them hotrocks wide open see if theres any gold in them,, let them have the hammer.
