Today's Finds - 07-10-06

I went and hunted a few house yards today. Both houses were built in 1900. The first has almost 4 acres of land and the send about 2.25 acres. I hunted about 20min at each site. I just wanted to test the water, so to speak, to see if it would be worth bringing Lee back with me to hunt them because he needs to get some coins to fill a few spots in his collection.

The first house gave me 2 wheats and an 1899 Indian Head Penny and 2 what's its.

The second house gave me 3 wheats, a 1947 silver roosevelt dime, and a 1947 jefferson nickel and 2 more whats its. It also yielded 2 memorial cents and a clad dime.

The wheats are: 1915D, 1927, 1928, 1940, and 1945D.

That is a nice haul. Even if you didn't find anything else in the future, you'd have done pretty good with these finds!

I'm really not too sure what the gold bar thingy is. It says RD inside of that oval and then has some numbers above it. It certainly has me perplexed!

I don't suppose it could be a gold/silver/platnium bar could it??.....the serial number makes me lean that way....hard to tell....hope it is!

How did it register? I first thought of a large zipper pull, but I didn't see a loop to attach it to anything. But looking it, might it have been a badge or tag off a piece of furniture or a vehicle?
