Hey all. Found this ring a couple of weeks ago and it was all corodded. Just chucked it into the junker pile. Today I threw some coins and my junk jewelry into the rock tumbler. Imagine my surprise seeing the mark. Well, what do I have? Is it gold filled? If so, what percentage of gold am I looking at? Or should I just throw it back into my junk jewelry box?

Thanks for looking,

Gold filled has a thicker layer of gold than plated does but still not much gold. That ring looks pretty rough. If it was me it would go back in the junk box.

Keep swingin.

Totally agree. Gold filled is not enough gold to do anything with. it would stay in junk if it were mine. No refinery will take it. Some will but you have to have 5 pounds of it.

I'm with the rest. Gold filled is just not worth messing with in most cases.

When I find them, they end up with my junk jewelry.

Sounds good. Junk box it is! Thanks for all the input,everyone.:occasion14:
