Couldn't decide weather to post this in ' Today's finds' or here .. I was thinking, to me at least and my research it looks similar to some archulean and Oldowan early stone tools I researched on the interwebs but I also have realized pictures from a cell phone often only do little justice to significant detail, so what looks more authentic in person may appear quite dull or askew in portrait of a cheap cellphone camera, but I figured I'd give this a shot anyway. Open to hear others openions preferably from those familiar with early stone tools or different varieties of ...

Gracias

Edit ::::

Attached I added a screen shot of some previously found Archulean stone tools for anyone unfamiliar with/ curious about early Archulean stone tools, similarity, or reference : )

Biggest question would be where you found it, it isn’t archulean or oldowan I’d found in the states

Sorry, natural rock.

it could be a one time use-and-toss cobble chopper....unless you found it in a creek.....just a rough and ready tool that was made even into the contact era.

Yes definitely. Where was it found? If you found it out at olduvai gorge, then yeah I’d check out. But if came from say, Rhode Island then it’s a leverite

Early American Indian...Skinning Tool!

The flat side rests in the palm of the hand, with a thumb rest carved out, and the curved side slightly sharpened for skinning hides off Buffalo or Deer.

Depending on the stone could be a speed tool. I've found one made out of quartz in a shell mound with just a few knocks on it, just enough to give an edge.
