Today I found a large button and a strange object. Anyone have an idea what is might be. Thanks

first of all Welcome to Tnet. Does the button have a shank of anything written on the back. It always helps to show the back of a button and some other things as well.

My best guess is that the big thing is part of an oil lamp. (But, I'm most probably wrong.... )
