TODAYS FIND HELP! Buckle?

I need help trying to figure out exactly what today's find is ANY help is much appreciated!!

We are guessing it is some sort of buckle from horse tack. The prong on it is braided which is very unique!

It is a beauty and I was so excited when I finally got it dug up!

Yes , I think you're right- a part of a horse bit would be my guess too (missing the other ring )
