Today's Digs - 12-23-06
I got out for a little bit today with Lee and Larry at one of the local parks.
I dug a 1936 Mercury Dime, 1893 & 1899 Indian Heads, and 4 Wheats (10, 18, 21, 27). The 1921 is mangled beyond belief. It looks as if someone took pliers and just bent it a bunch. It was the deepest coin of the day as well and rang in at about 9-10" deep but still sang in nice and clear on the explorer.
The coins are uncleaned and just how they came out of the ground except for some rubbing on the date on the indians.
A local reporter from the newspaper also just showed up at random and asked us some questions, took about 20 pictures of each of us in action, etc. So I'm sure eventually we might be in the newspaper for being so incredibly cool to go digging when it is in the 30s out, haha.
