Today's Cold & Snow Finds...more Colonial Silver!
Bill and I had finalized a plan for the day, but Mother Nature threw a wrench into it. We were going to start the day where we left off at last time - at a site we hit a week ago. We then had planned to go check with a new landowner who had granted us permission at a new site. Well in less than 24 hours the weather went from a perfect forecast to a day of wet, wind, and white stuff.
We decided to just stick it out at the old site so as to not disturb the new owner on a poor weather day. It worked out, but it was cold! I have to admit that we quit after only about 4.5 hours as we both were soaked and cold.
I did manage to find a few nice little items. I dug another cut spanish pistareen and a few other odds and ends. I was the silver daddy today as I also managed to dig a nice standing liberty quarter and merc dime. It was funny though - I don't think we had been at the site for more than 5 minutes, as on my second hole out popped the cut silver, I knew then my day was down hill as I had been cursed by the "first hole target demon."
I managed a few buttons, a HUGE .75 musket ball, and a cool 3-Pence Coin Weight.
Bill dug himself something decent as well, but will let him post.
Still thawing out & HH
