I hit an old park today for 4 1/2 hours. I was just looking for deep iffy signals and learn how the machine works. My bud Goio was with me so that helped out tons. This is what I found:

1902 Indian Head Penny (Goio's help)
1919 Wheatie (Goio's help)
1934 D Wheatie
Flattened silver ring that's stamped 830 or 850
3 pistol slugs
3 deep Memorial Pennies
a lot of trash too

Goio was a life saver!!! He spent almost all of the time helping me, he found some iffy targets so I could practice listening and pinpointing them. The Explorer is totally different from my Ace 250 and will take sometime to learn, but I love a challenge!!! That makes 3 ghetto bling rings I have found at that park. :icon_pirat:
Thanks for all the help bud

I didn't know they made silver rings in anything other than 925, anybody ever found one?

Thanks for looking, HH

Yes it will take time to learn! The explorer SE and the Pro are practically the same except for the coils. But the detectors do take time to learn! If you have older area's then thats awesome! But since I have much newer area's, I mostly look for modern coins, and some jewerly if any are out there. One tip though...

Some people like the Digital because you can see the Fer and COND. I use this mode just because it is easier to make out what is trash and what is coins/silver coins and other items. But some people like to use the smartfind screen. But whichever one works for you! Sounds like you are getting into a lot older area's and parks. That seems to be working for you because you are getting a lot of old coins that I could dream of only detecting! :)

Digging iffy signals are hard work they sound so deep; so sometimes you do not know if it is a pull tab or a nail.

One thing that I have found out with the SE/PRO is that it is very good with beaches and parks. Not so much with the playgrounds. You might need to get a smaller coil to work those area's.

Well thats just my imput on the SE/Pro. Glad you had fun hunting with your brand new machine!

Good luck with your Explorer SE PRO!

Yea, I'm using the Smart Find screen and just trying to listen and look for jumping signals and watching the depth. We were hunting with 2 other guys, one of them found 2 Barber Quartes and a Standing Liberty Quarter in 1 hole!!! I have to say I was jelious - LOL
But I'm learning and that guy has been hunting for 30+ years

Congrats on your finds, and your new Explorer!

It's good that you have someone knowledgeable with your machine to go out hunting with. You will catch on more quickly.

Good Luck to you!!
