Today I got

Good luck, I wish I could go too...

So-so day at the carnie cleanup, site one gave me 35 qtrs and lots of dimes and a few nickels and cents. Also got a 30" long 1/2" drive breaker bar, Snap-On, 20" channel locks, 16" crescent wrench and a nice folding lockblade knife. Handed the tools over to one of the carnie truck drivers, kept the knife to add to my found blades collection. Left a LOT of change at or just below the surface, as the grass was about 2 1/2" tall in the hot spots and I wanted to move on to the next site. Maybe revisit it this weekend.

Site two was dry and grass was flat over most of it. Only one ride seemed to drop the bulk of coinage, 14 qtrs, almost as many dimes, nickels and cents each. Also got a dozen tokens left over from some earlier event, they were all just at or below surface. New pair of reading glasses, leftover popcorn, water and pop! Very messy site also.

More fishing lures at each site, can't believe someone would put those things on their ears! No silver or gold bling though.

Started off to carnie site three but a couple traffic jams later I instead declared victory and headed home. All together it was about 2 hours of detecting so it worked out to a good return on time. Would have liked to seen more change at these sites, as I have in the past but it's all hitting the vendoteria anyhow so the diet won't suffer so much as it does when I do really good. Besides, left a little behind at first site for the late comers, a couple local ladies who I've encountered there in the past.

I'm always thinking of others. and the goodies that they drop!

The 4-year old $8K central AC fixed. The previous central AC in this house lasted 30 YEARS. No problems. But we bought this high-efficiency GREEN unit. Didn't know it wasn't me getting the GREEN out of this deal.

That's why I couldn't go beepin'!

When I can finally generate my own DDT I'm moving north and living in the woods with metal detectors and skeeter-killing chemicals being the only modern technology in my life.

Hey Mayo, Thursday open?

I just saw the Thursday open? question - so, a belated no.
It's been so hot that the only coins I went looking for were in my pants pocket.

Can you get out tomorrow early?

The coil swinging might be good, soft dirt and all, but I hit the gulley instead, got a BEAUTIFUL old stoneware honey pot, about half-pint size, a pint dairy bottle, a couple olive jars and another Elgin Eagle blob top.
