I went back out to the woods where Twistidd found his pocket spill and started detecting along the path. All last year I was hoping to find a Barber dime but I never did, so this year I made it my mission to find one!!! LOL Last year I found a Barber quarter but I couldn't find a dime to save my life. I also found a super sharp Merc too, this makes 5 silvers for me for 2009!!! I also found 2 Wheaties, some clad, shotgun shell, and some other junk. I also found 2 Pepsi bottles & a coke bottle but they were the kind where the letters were painted on so I stashed them just in case I want to go back and get them later. Not too shabby for a few hours of work. I hope everyone got a chance to get out and do some diggin!!! :icon_pirat:

P.S. What's with all the harmonica reeds? I find them all the time. I guess they used to love playin the harp.

18th & 19th century ipods? ;D

Sometime prior to the 1960's you were issued a hohner if you were born with a boner.

high five...............

Sweet Hunt TreasureFiend! Congrats on finally getting that Barber Dime! I really want to get a barber quarter or half dollar this season :) Great video.

Everyone needs to start carrying around some water though! I know DP Bob carries a little Rx bottle of water... that's a very light weight way to do it. I like the sprayer/mister bottle that I have but it is a little on the heavy side.

Have you thought about new ways to do the video recording? I always thought I might be more inclined to do it if I had a helmet cam or something like that, but it's not like I want to be wearing a helmet or anything. Maybe a detector cam.

I hope we all can find Barbe quarters & half's this season!!! :icon_pirat:

I think video from a helmet cam would be too wobbly as you would be filming stuff just a few feet aw or less. I have trekked through on a few hunts with my tripod but that got old real quick. I dunno, I just toss my video camera in my pouch or backpack and dig it out whenever I find something.

Big congrats TF those are some Nice Finds .........Expecially that Nice Barber !!!!!!!

Outstanding!! That place has really been producing some real sweeties during the last few hunts

Glad you got out before today. . . yuck :BangHead:

Take care,
Mark

WTG on your 1st Barber dime...still looking for mine.

Finally!! Welcome to the Barber dime club. It's not unusual to find the Barber dimes really thin like that, both of mine I found last year are like that. I'd love to find a really sharp crisp one soon. That area holds many more...nearly all of us have pulled Barbers out of there. Barbers, and other Barber-era coins.

I wanted to get out today, but I think it'd just be too sloppy and muddy with all the melting snow (and some still coming down). I think by next week, it will be all good. Great video as always!

Joe

Way to go bud!
I was gonna go there, but wasn't sure if you were there or not, and by the time I found out, the weather was starting to change.
