Detector(s) used
(RS)Discovery 2000, white's bullseye, NEW DFX!!!
I went on my 1st hunt in the forest with a club I'm gonna join. The hunt was not very productive for me, but I did get my first ring! It's the silver one in the photo, they said it's a mood ring where the inner band changes color on your mood (temp. probably). I also got a bullet and my first Token. Also got a toy gun part, pull tabs, pull tabs and for a change the whole can. Out about 4 hours. Also found a couple of bottles I need help identifying if they're old ... see bottles & glass section if interested.

I wanted more so I went to the mall to see if the sweepers got the debris from the long gone snow piles. They did not!!

I got my second ring, crushed, no stone or mark but maybe gold ... I check the jeweler tomorrow. Also an ear ring piece (looks like a spinner for a fishing lure.. very heavy), my first foreign coin and 5 cent euro, heart pendent, and a ronjon surf shop stainless steel bottlecap opener. 21 zinc pennies, 13 coppers, and 6 dimes. Out about 1-1/2 hours and no digging!

enjoy the pictures and thank you for reading.

unproductive?? looks like you found lots of fun stuff! Hope you atleast had a good time! :)

Looks like a good hunt to me. Anytime you find rings is a good one to me. I guess I get too excited when I find a ring and it doesn't matter if it's a junk one. Way to go there!

It's the thrill of the hunt. Any day you're out swinging the detector is a good day.

Looks like an interesting mix of finds. The ronjon bottle opener is a little far from home. They have locations in FL, CA and NJ. I guess with the internet it's only a mouse click away. Nice finds.

WTG Rumblebelly,
Be sure and bring your good finds to the next meeting.

don't go to the jeweler, go hunt instead.......you will know if there silver or gold......

good finds

Thank you for the kind remarks.

Danglangley, I was very excited about the ring on the hunt. I was hard not to yell a woohoo! I was in a field where they're planning on an organized hunt later this year so I figured for the last hour I would "clean as many pull tabs out as I could. The ring came up as a penny about 2-3" deep. I saw that silver rim and I made the whole thing worth it! I spent 3 hours in the woods with not many signals and mostly junk other than the token, (the bullet came after the ring). I guess I was really hoping for a coin. I hear of everyone talking of silver coins, I would have been happy with clad, but none to be found that time.

The second ring in the parking lot was just as exciting. I think I may love this now more than fishing!?

Bull Durham, what happened to you? You where there and then like 10 minutes later you left. Hope all is well.

Thanx again everybody,
