Dug a lot of trash today. Here are two items we found can anyone ID what the piece with the 11 on it may be for. As far as the buckle it is hard to see the letters. Cleaned it up the letters I see are SULIDE not sure what it stands for any ideas HH LOHI

I'm not 100% positive, but the belt buckle looks like it could be the buckle of a sam brown police belt.any way nice finds and as always HH...........

The # 11 tag. I dug one like that at the base of a telephone pole once.
I think mine had 24 on it. I thought it might have been nailed to the pole at one time. And used to tell how long the pole had been there in service. The number 11 standing for the year 1911. #12 Would stand for 1912 and so on. Just like the #'s on date nails in rail road ties.
But that's just my guess. HH

There's a buckle about half way down on this site from the civil era: Greybird Relics
It's labeled ("Parris" Suspender Buckles) It's marked "Parris", & "Solid" and it looks like a pretty good match.
The "Solid" may be what you are seeing... (SULIDE)
