I like to take people hunting that are new to MD and try to teach them what little knowledge I have acquired over the last 30 years of hunting.
most often it's keep your head near the ground and always overlap your swing. But after a few min. of hunting it's time to remind them again.
I recently was walking dehind a friend on there first hunt that I had told this to a few times and found what he just missed a 1827 1 real he had to run his detector over it just to see if the detector might have missed it and found that he had missed it not the detector.
My biggest learning tool was reading the MD mags and seeing what others had found and how and when I started doing what I was reading then boy I started finding.
I have Buddy's that have hunted with me for years but they still dint follow the advice of overlapping and they dint find near what I do.
Oh and read the pages off that owners manual it relay dose know what its sayind ....just wish it had more pic's.
