To anyone in Indiana:

What you have to do is notify the Park Services, maybe in Indiana or the place your wanting to hunt. They will tell you exactly where you can hunt and what you can do. Don't go without permission, I know you already know this, but always good to remind. Good Luck!! Most Parks will allow you to hunt a beach, but every Park is different in Indiana!

Robert, the experience I had at Lieber State Park some years ago may be
illustrative... went there to camp with my wife, a family member that had
worked at the park said ask at the park office for permission to hunt on
the beach... park office gave me a slip of paper that I wrote my name on
and we were set... til the next day... out hunting the beach again and a
ranger stopped and asked where my permit was, showed her what I had,
she said that's no good, you have to get one each day (!) so, back to the
office... then back to the beach... then another person spies my wife swinging
the detector... where's the permit? Showed what I had... not good enough...
have to have one for each of us... back to the office, then back to the beach...
Is it just me, or could the original person have been just a wee bit more
forthcoming with info???

Hope you have fun on the Dunes,

Joe

What I have noticed in my 32 years is that , if you ask.......they might say NO..70% of the time, but if you just do it and act like you know its ok , maybe 20% of the time you will be told to leave or even bothered with......I know this doesnt sound like the best way but most times if you ask about a public place to hunt, the out come isnt good cause it is a personal decision of the person your asking and no real rule or law...... >:(
