My daughter called this morning and asked if my detector could find titanium. When I asked her why she wanted to know, she said her father-in-law had lost his glasses in a hay field. Fifteen minutes later I am in a truck with my son-in-law on our way to the hay field. That's when I find out the reason he lost the glasses was he had run his hay rake over a yellow jacket nest. I am VERY afraid of bees, wasps and other stinging creatures, so by the time we reached the field I was pretty nervous. Once there I was told the glasses hadn't been lost right at the nest, but had come off as he was trying to drive the tractor away from it. He showed me the area he thought they would be in and showed me the area the nest was in. Ten minutes later the glasses were found under a windrow of hay. They were somehow completely undamaged by the rake or the tractor. No bees were sighted during the recovery and that suited me just fine.
