Great tips. Thank you for posting the link. One of the best ways to find gold-bearing areas is to look at a state's geological studies and reports. All states have gold, but only about 6 states have gold in any appreciable quantities. Go to those states first and foremost. Arizona has gold around Quartzite - a favorite hangout for snowbirds. Nevada has gold around Rye Patch Reservoir. California has gold around the Highway 49 route. Alaska has gold in Ganes creek. Idaho and Colorado also had gold rushes, and those areas should be researched. I own a California geological report in hardback edition with a map - greatest book for finding previous gold claim areas. The hard part is learning that much of those lands are now off limits.
