Tip or end of umbrella?

From the nails and a tombac button located I believe the site is late 1700 early 1800. The piece is copper. My best guess so far is an umbrella tip.

Good guess, there is civil war activity in the area, would it be of that era or 1812

**SOLVED** I believe you are right with the Burnside casing. The area saw a pretty extensive running calvary battle during the Civil War.

It's rare to find one in that condition. The ones I have are very corroded.
