I found this in the same field I found my 4 Heller 1768 coin. There is a little crown visible just above the wedge holding the metal to the wood. There is still rotten wood inside. Unfortunately it has been squashed. Does anybody have an idea what it is and maybe how old??? DSCN2212.JPG

I think it's a scabbard tip / finial.

it is about 3 7/8" approx 9.5 cm long and it was about 1" x 7/8" approx 2.5 cm x 2 cm where the wedge is holding the wood.
