Hello All, Wicka here!
Every two weeks I go through my sisters coins before I cash them in for her.
Notable finds:
1929 wheat.
1986 S proof quarter (sadly ended up in the jar again...)
1958 BEAUTIFUL WHEAT!!

good finds! I sure hope they give a percentage of the coins you cash for them. Going out of one's way to cash some coins in is a pretty big deal, at least in my opinion.

dude, it's his sister.

I don't know about you, but I've NEVER, had free time and still do not. When I was his age, I was nose-deep in books and leaving them would have been detrimental to my GPA yo. Dawg, most people need to physically get in a vehicle and drive to a bank. Let's say, it takes 15 minutes to get to, 5 minutes to "cash" the coins and get some halves if they have any, and 15 minutes to return home. That's 35 minutes at the very least, to cash coins for a sister who I assume is older than Wika and is physically capable of doing it herself.

35 minutes of free time. I don't know about you, but my time is worth over $100 an hour. Possibly, time for Wika is only $5 an hour. If a family member makes me go out of my way, just for something they can darn well do themselves, of course I want compensated.

I hope at the very least she lets him outright keep them coins he finds. He probably gets no more than 35 cents every blue moon. A 35 cent loss for a brother is worth it IMHO, cause, he is going out of his way to return them coins for her.

That's nice that your sister let you go through those coins and a couple of nice wheat cents is a plus............

50 cent I am going to go out on a limb here and say your the minority in this case, most people in this world go out of there way to help family ( b/c there family ) just something to think about I guess.

I do go out of my way to help my family, His sister should realize she's taking advantage of him.
I've told you and Em to leave me alone multiple times. I'm just sharing my hunt and you want me to make my sister pay me for letting me look through her coins? This is why I don't post often anymore. Trolls are real.
Wicka.

hintHint it is against the rules to suggest someone is a troll.

and although it's probably a Good thing you's avoid each others posts if you's can't play nice with each other,
But seriously If you found his post upsetting
(I would have laughed at 50 & told him he was getting Lazy in his old age):icon_scratch:
I sure hope the cabin fever is over soon.

Seriously ? :icon_scratch:

Yep- at least in this forum

just keep stacking, just keep stacking, stacking stacking stacking

A sense of humor would apply here if half dollar was actually as funny as he thinks he is Jeff!

again, not exactly a friendly remark :(

Apparently you didn't read some of the things he and others were saying about a new poster they attacked a few weeks ago.

Completely disagree. I'd jump at the chance to search through coins (and often do) and cash them in for whomever, provided I get the opportunity to swap out what I want to keep. I do this on a somewhat regular basis, and often end up getting wheatties and silver rosies for face value. If Wika and his sister are comfortable with their arrangement, why knock it?

One last thing I want to say. I once worked as a cashier a long time ago, and I would find maybe one keeper every several weeks and we dealt with a ton of change. I'm guessing its from a tip jar, at a coffee place, and most of the time the coins are brand new, akin to getting coins from boxes, the odds of getting anything good are extremely low. You search through tons of clad, throw-back-to-the-bank coins, take trips to the bank, and once in a blue moon you find something decent.

It's good if he has free time, and if getting to bank is not a hassle I guess. If the previous two conditions are true, (banks walking distance for example) then I guess its not half bad. But odds are, going to the bank takes up time, and if the bank doesn't have a coin machine, he needs to spend all that time rolling coins. Here is an idea if its inconvenient in any way, he continues to look through the coins, and then teaches his sister to go to the bank to cash them.

If Wika and his sister are comfortable with their arrangement, why knock it?
I agree with you, but he might not have much free time, I just wanted to point this out.

EDIT: Don't make any more posts in reply to me, I'm out of this thread. I just wanted to explain my logic.

dang dawg how much free time did you use up replying to this thread

LOL - Tip Jar, for sure!
Whenever I go into a place with a tip jar, I always ask to search through it and offer to replace at 10x face value anything I want to keep. 99 out of 100 times they agree to let me...

Whatever works for you, I've taken silver dimes/Wheatley out of those "Take A Penny" convenience store things before and just replace with whatever I have in my pocket.
So I cashed in the coins and it was 250$~
Her and I do this once a month. Probably 10$ in clad. That alone is worth it. No luck finding that proof quarter though!
