Got out for a bit today and found this toy car. It’s unmarked from what I can see and looks like a tootsie but half as long. Anybody know anything about this? 07EC42D3-8605-4F50-B188-0FCC23B28C8E.jpeg

When I was little, my dad use to bring me home these when he returned from business trips in the 1950's. I still have some somewhere. Could possibly be more information on the inside stamped.

how old it is?

I’m not sure about the age. No marks on it anywhere from what I can tell. Simon1 says 1950s. That’s pretty close I would say.

Nice little Barclay car Madman!

Good luck to you sir.

There is a chance it could also be a "Midgetoy" who was a competitor of "Tootsietoy", but as far as I know, they use to stamp their name on the insides also. (I have found many from both companies). It could just be a generic company that did not use a company stamp. I would think if it were a Midge or Tootsie, it would be marked on the underside. It is a nice find regardless. Reminds us of the days "before plastic" !

That’s a real nice save. I like finding the old ones like that. Congrats

I also found one a while back, and it's still one of my favorite finds! Congrats on the "new" car.IMG_20160320_134851279.jpg

Same here hawk. It looks real nice next to the previously recovered tootsies on my window seal.

I’ll look again tonight but I didn’t see any marks so it could be a knockoff. I likes it either way.

Cool little car find! :occasion14:

Could be from the old penny gum ball machine-- got a toy sometimes instead of candy too rot your teeth---- ha ha hah. HH - good luck out there!!!

Funny thing is I didn’t find anything else old. Dug about 3 dollars in clad but none old except one 60s memorial It was amongst a coin spill. Had dug a couple nickels and I thought it was another coin.

Ive found that stuff like the tootsie car will pass the threshold and produce a signal cause of its size a lot of the older coins will be deeper with a very faint signal at a slow swing, Im sure youll find em
