Not sure if this is a tiny house or a storage/dynamite thing. There were other houses in the area 100 years ago and there are bottle dumps in the area. The door is about 4 feet tall and it is built into the rock. Not much inside it. It was full of sand and timbers.. What a weird little thing to find in the bush. Just wanted to share. Thanks for looking! :)

Rodgerdodger I'm not sure what that is, maybe some more leaves or something else? The size of the building is currently about 5' x 4'. On the surface it looks like it could be 6x14 or close to that. When looking though the door I can only see about 4 feet to the back because of some cave in. I will be sure to get better pics next time out there.

BootyBay- i hope to have more time when I am there next. I will be doing further investigating :icon_thumright:

This is so cool! When I first saw it - I was reminded of the root cellar at my parents' house that we used to play in when I was young. But I don't think a root cellar would have a window :icon_scratch: so you just might have some sort of house there.

FWIW I just searched google images for a root cellar pic -

Maybe it is an old spring house? Pretty neat!

We have places that look like that up here, they used them to store bodies when the ground was too frozen to dig...

Don't know if they do any mining in your part of the world, but if it's set way off from where any houses were it's pretty similar to the powder magazines we have here, where they stored the powder used in blasting in the mines. If there's any material available, do some historical research on the area.

I've came across some like that here in New Mexico.

Some are Line shacks.

Some are Miners homes.

Smoke Bombs drive out the snakes.
