Hello, any ideas on age an what it was used for? I know it's not a Kepi,wrong shape! Thanks, Snaps

Not positive but I've found one or two similar in 1800s cellars. Never really looked into them

I think it's late 18th century to early 19th century, especially if it's cast brass.

Tpmetal,the ones you found, did they differ in size? Can't imagine these had any heavy duty use. Smokey, yea I believe it is cast,as always the older the better! Thanks a lot guys

Its post-1900, the give-a-way is the pin that is not free moving.
