I was searching under a bridge that goes across an irrigation canal, and I was getting some junk jewelry and corroded modern coins, when my DFX gave a good clear signal. It was this little Liberty bell, about 4 inches down. It looks silver, but it isn't marked. This canal site has some strange stuff. You never know what will turn up next. Also got a Caesars Tahoe medallion on a chain, an aluminum chain bracelet marked Made In Germany, and a big thingy marked Team Kwik that has a spider on it. Thanks and good luck, Niffler.

Almost like someone lost their jewelry box on that canal bridge. Great hunt.

It might be pewter , either way it is a nice piece ! The bell that is .

That is a very cool find indeed.

If you have not cleaned it since you found it...I will say it has the "look" silver, just a bit of tarnish, the right luster, and so on.

What did your detector say it was ?

Does it have a good "ring" ?

Nice finds. I think it may be pewter as well, but hopefully it is silver. That would be sweet. HH

Hi, thanks for the nice replies. It rings up as +81 on my DFX with the 6" excellerator EQ2 coil. That is well into the silver range. I am not sure where pewter is on the VDI scale. The area under the bridge where I found it is a place I go if I don't have another site lined up, but only in the spring while the water is not in the canal. Thanks and HH, Niffler
