Found a really pretty tiny flower yesterday in my yard which I had not see before so got down on my belly to take a couple of shots ...

The flowers are a little less than 1/4" across. Look on the stem of the second image and you'll see some kind of fly near the other bloom which should give an idea of the actual size of the flower. Oh, ant those are blades of grass behind the flower.

Thanks for looking.

Thiny but nice!

That is tiny. It almost looks like a snapdragon. Very pretty!

Actually, the more I look at these two flowers, the more they remind me of the "Venus Flytrap" type of flower. Lots of sticky stuff (second image has several insects including a gnat stuck to it) all around. There were others near these two that were closed. Maybe I'll see if I can get a shot of one or two of them this evening.

Beautiful.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks all. Now, here are two more images of the same flowers.

The first is another open bloom, but from the opposite side:

The next one is an unopened bloom ...

I don't come here looking for info on flowers, I use the gardening sites for that. I ask here when I get no answers there ... even tried the "shazam" of plant images ap (Pl@ntnet) as well as their site where you can post images of unknown flowers/plants ... no bites now for 2 days.

I have those tiny flowers too, scattered about my yard. I always thought they looked like miniature orchids. There's another that make little white flowers & plenty of huge seeds (it a spreading ground cover), my fowl love eating the seeds.
