Found this small crucifix in my own back yard. I got off work(midnight) and decided that since it has been raining lately and the weather is extraordinarily warm, why not take another poke at the yard for a minute. Put on my head lamp and went off. I figured since the Hostas lining the side of the property have all but wilted, I could now go over them. Found a dime in there, '67 and some fragment off a toy or something. Then, swinging by the fat maple, I got a decent but sort of iffy signal. I dug it expecting foil or maybe rotted iron. The soil was narrowed down to a small handful and my pin pointer kept telling me, "it's in there...it's still in there"! Finally I located it, thinking it was a compacted piece of foil ... I cleared the dirt and hey, a little crucifix! Cool! I don't think it's silver though, there are no markings on it.
Nice end to a work night. GL & HH!
