Dug this at a site with history from 1850-1950. Any idea on age?

Well, looks the age of the site. At least not handmade. Nice buckle btw!

My best guess according to the style would be from around turn of century to 20-30ies, but its only a guess.

Greets namxat

Small stamped-brass buckles with flanges on the crossbar to keep the buckle's tongue properly centered start showing up around 1900, plus or miinus a decade or so. Still being manufactured today, but not "ornate" (decorated) ones like yours. I agree with Namxat... it's most likely from the first third of the 1900s.
