Found this today in a plowed field at a historic farm. It looks like a miniature Civil War bullet, but it is so small. Is it just a modern bullet?

Without precise measurements it will be hard to correctly identify your item. To me it looks like a .22 but I am just guessing. It looks like some of these:

It measures 1/2" tall and 1/4" wide. fyrffytr1, I was thinking the same thing, probably a .22 bullet. The same field had lots of shotgun shells in it, so I think the owners do a lot of hunting and target practice there.
