Noticed one of the bucks that comes in to feed has lost his horns. So, now we'll start shed hunting! This year has been the strangest ever for the rut...it only lasted what seemed like a week. Now they are losing their horns, and usually it's February before they start dropping. Maybe the cold temps and ice storms have something to do with it?

Yeah, that seems to be quite early for them to start shedding their antlers. If I remember right they usually didn't start to shed their antlers in Oklahoma until into late February, as you said.
Did you find his sheds?

No, we haven't found the sheds yet...I need to go check the draw that runs behind our house. The deer use that draw as a bedding area and it's a natural funnel where they come up out of the creek bottom. We found a bunch of sheds in that draw last year.
Thanks old digger :hello:
