Time To Start Planning For Saturday Hunting

My wife's birthday is on Sunday, so I can't go hunting then... but Saturday is a big green GO! I can be up and out somewhere by 8am and hunt 'til about 4pm. To really maximize my time I'm prepared to pack a lunch! Let's do this thing.

Anyone wanna repeat last Sunday's hunt and head out to the same place?

Anybody want to bring me to your new virgin grounds? hee hee.

All week long, this is all I think of so I have to prepare in advance or I'll just wake up Saturday morning going.. "damn it's cold, and I'm too lazy to get my butt up and out in that cold... besides, I'm too lazy to be warm in that cold... did I mention it will be col... oh hey what's on TV??"

It's supposed to be a little warmer this Saturday than last Sunday, and this Sunday is even better for all of you who have Sunday still free. Couldn't ask for a nicer potential "last weekend" for hunting!

It's not the last weekend until Dec. 27/28 Man!

Then we start all over in January. Nice thing about this time of year is working the river, the ground is still soft under the ice in a lot of spots.

Yeah but some people hang up their detectors when it gets too cold. Me personally, I know I'll be pretty busy in the coming weekends but I will try to get out and dig like you say by the river and at sledding areas.

So anywho... I'm up for another south side hunt if anyone is down with that

I'll be in Orland Hills MD'ing a tot lot before I run a 5K (3.1 miles) at the same park. I think I found 45 cents there last year LOL

Trying to meet up with someone in Oak Lawn afterwards to show an Ace 250 noob how to use the machine. They only found 2 cents on their property, despite 9, yes 9, kids previously living there. Don't think so! So we'll do that for an hour to see if any coins show up (property is 50 years old).

I'm probably gonna hold out and go somewhere Sunday. That extra 5 degrees should make it nice.
You might want to make sure you've got at least one more huntin' buddy with you Brett, just to play it safe.
If it doesn't work out, you can always hit that silver park out by you.

Ran my best time in a 5K, but alas I think the field was loaded because the other times made me look like a snail

Found 2 Q's, 2 D's, 1 N and 3 cents in the tot lot. Some of the packed woodchips were frozen solid almost 3'' ;-(

Met the Oak Lawn person and gave an Ace demo. Them 250's don't like being too close together LOL.

No silver, some clad of course. Not a single pull tab
