Time For A Break - The Gold Ring Is Still Out There

I told myself I wouldn't go out today (3rd day in a row) but I couldn't help myself..the weather was kind of chilly with flurries, but not bad. I went to a middle school and searched the football field, finding more clad and a cool looking key to add to my collection. Then on the way home I stopped at a local grade school to search the wood chips..I needed some easy digging because I can barely make a fist with my right hand from holding the detector. Anyway within the first 2 minutes I pulled up a ring. I thought I finally found my gold but it wasn't the real deal. Kinda pretty though. I ended up taking home $4.29 in coins, 2 keys, a washer, 2 pendants a zipper pull and a little ring.

I enjoyed today's hunt but need to take a break to heal my hand, and to take care of things with the family/house this week. In the meantime I'll be reading your posts..best of luck to everyone and happy hunting.

Boy!, your coin count is on the rise. The percentage strategy is continuing to work in your favor. The more pennies and pulltabs you find, the closer you will get to the "real deal" gold ring.

Thanks all, yeah I know where the coins are, It's pretty common for me to go out for a few hours and find $5 or more in coins along with other stuff..each time I dug a pull tab I just smiled and told my detector "Well that's what you're supposed to do!"

I know that solid pull tab beep when I hear it and know that's the sound I'll hear (while also showing a pull tab on my display) when the real thing finally appears.

I've never seen a key like that!

Yes I think it did Lisa..even though this one gave a nickel signal (instead of a pull tab). I kinda hoped for gold, but it just wasn't to be today. I've dug up more than 50 to date..some are junky costume rings but alot of them are 925 silver.

Hot key!! I've seen them like that at the key making station in the local home improvement emporiums. Looks like a key for a Kwikset lock.

Hey Natman, gold shows up as nickel sometimes, and foil regularly on my machine. (aside from pulltab). Looks like you're paying your dues though...one's coming your way soon.

I cant believe you found another ring and........Burned again.Its got to be on the way.Maybee its yellow gold plated over white gold [for some peoples allergies],or silver under the plating.
