Some people have said that there is some chatter in salt?? Is this a big deal and does it still have some depth?? Does it pick up small gold as I have heard when a pulse may pass it up, but maybe not go as deep as a pulse?? Thanks

The Tiger Shark is fine is salt water when you put it in the salt mode. Just flip the switch and your smooth again. It is definitely more sensitive to small gold including chains than any pulse I have used. Small gold doesn't get buried as deep as a wedding band and tends to float on top of the bottom when submerged.

I was in the MD store a couple of years ago and personally witnessed the following . A fella had purchased a Tiger Shark several weeks earlier to use on the only beach he could easily get to (He was kinda old). I forget the name of the beach but it is notorious here in SO. CA for high mineralization . He said that no matter what he tried it would not function . The store manager called the West Coast guy for Tesoro (Berg) and upon hearing the story immediately told the fella to refund him . That says a lot about Tesoro . On my advise the fella instead took a Whites Surf Pro PI and I believe he paid a few more bucks to boot . He has never come back soooo I'm thinking he's happy . I would wonder if the Sand Shark would not have been the better first choice in the beginning . I remember reading that the Sand Shark has 600 PPS and the Whites has 800 PPS . I would think that the fella figured that since he wasn't diving the Tiger was the machine for him . I myself have wondered which of the 2 would be better to have .I would love to take a Surf Pro PI to the desert and see how it stacks up against my LST and even my SD2200d . The 2200 would probably clean it's clock but it takes forever to get the 2200 all set up to go . Not to mention the weight . The LST is virtually (but not really) "turn on and go". My idea is to work the LST and if it produces then go back with the 2200 . The Surf Pro is still an enigma .

It was a beach in OC . If you call John at Pedersens Metal Detectors in Santa Ana he will probably remember since he is a beach hunter himself .

Hello
Tiger shark is not for salt water.
