Hi , can you put a couple more pictures that show the fronts of each, wehre they are marked, and also which side the hinges are located on each?

I think Tiffanys will charge you a research fee

One of these was found some years ago and proved quite a mystery for some time on Treasurenet.
I have tried to search for the Original Post but without luck. (T'net used to have a much more user-friendly search feature - shame!)
I'm pretty sure the 'original one' had the same figure on it and FROM MEMORY it was finally determined to be a collar (or maybe cloak?) clasp and dated late 19th C(?) Also, I think other examples were presented to confirm the identity.

If anyone fancies searching for the OP it would have appeared around 2007.

What is the diameter? Also, can you clean them more, then post clearer photos?

From what I can tell from the photos, they look to be BUTTON COVERS with the button cage missing. If they are the size of a quarter, these covers could have been on a coat, cloak, or cape.

Neat finds :)
