For a better pic, try using the macro (small flower) setting on the camera.

Ah......that pic. was taken using the little flower (macro). I took 1/2 dozen to get that. Sorry, best I can do.

You may have a false Macro. In other words, you may have a macro flower icon but no macro lens.

Try backing up an inch or two. You dont have to take a dozen pics. What you see is what you get. In other words, if the LCD screen image looks out of focus, the picture will be out of focus. Just keep moving the camera back a few inches until it focuses. If it still refuses to focus, you may not have a macro (close up) lens.

Another tip. You need to pause a sec to let the auto lens focus. In other words, push the button halfway, pausing a second to focus and all the while keeping pressure on the button, continue pushing until it clicks. This is a common mistake made with autofocus cameras and you may be surprised how many people cannot take a close up picture. . The lens needs a pause to auto focus. Some have a green light when ready.

Also all the while you need to keep steady. Tripod is best. I put my elbows on the table for support. Hope this helps.

If these tips dont help, then you may not have a macro lens.
