........One does not need a TID meter or even TID Audio to use this technique........I have marked the fall out points on my detector's discrimination dial with a light pencil mark.......I start out hunting on accepting Foil......upon encountering a signal ....I move the dial to the pulltab mark......if the signal is still there I dig it ....may be a coin........If the signal disappears......I moved the dial to the nickel mark ....since the fall out points for the nickel and the pulltab are different ....I can usually dig all of the nickels and leave most of the pulltabs in the ground......also if the pulltab signal sounds deep or wider than a coin......I dig it ........ mainly cause many High School Class Rings fall into the pulltab area......so this way .....can still leave a lot of the pull tabs in the ground....but still dig all of the really questionable readings...........GOOD LUCK......

Thanks, Joe, for a great explanation of the technique.

Actually heard it before from a fellow telling me how
to use a Tesoro, but the way you explain it here
is easy to follow and makes sense.
They used to call that "fiddling with the Discrim" but few people
could tell you exactly how it works.

Your posting will help a lot of people.
