Took my 13-year old granddaughter on on coin hunting road trip and had a great time. She's hooked! One bank we went to only had two hand-rolled rolls of halves. Got out to the car and discovered they were solid silver, mostly 40%ers but still, all silver! We must have gone through $2000 in halves. $1100 came from coins a couple banks had ordered for me that we picked up during the trip.
Totals: 8 Ike dollars, Halves were: 1-69, 20-68, 25-67, 10-66, 5-65, 8-64, 3 Bens, a 51, 59, and a 63 and 1 Walker, a 1945. Also got 2 proofs, a 80 and a 82. Lastly we found a 2004.
My granddaughter asked if she could have a Franklin before she goes back to Colorado at Summer's end. I asked if she wouldn't rather have a Walker and she said, "Sure, but aren't those YOU'RE favorites?" I'm going to try and make her a ring out of one.......a Walker of course.
