Only two things bother me when it is thundering and lightning out. Getting in or out of the water is one. The other is when it lightnings, and I am detecting the machine crackles in my ear. Other than those two things I love it.

Went back to ye old beach today because my daughter and her family headed back to Utah. I wanted to relax and get my mind off things. And of course I had to find another walker. This one is a 1944. The other silver is 4 mercs and a rosey and 3 sterling rings.

The whistle is a new one. Never found a flat brass one with a face on it. Also a WW2 dog tag made of aluminum. I have always found brass WW2 tags.

Nothing super exciting today. Hopefully tomorrow will bring something exciting.

Nothing "super exciting" !?...Scuba, I'd be doing back flips with that haul! Great stuff as usual...hey-quick question...what happened to that huge anchor and chain you were trying to uncover? Just wondering, I know you've been busy scooping up gold and silver by the truck loads...lol...and maybe got sidetracked...thx! Ddf

You know Sd, there's only so many times I can do this before it stops having the desired effect: :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

I found it again. Actually a few times. It has a huge iron ring on one end and about two foot down in the muck and sand it has what I think is a huge cement anchor. It is not a boat anchor unfortunately. I have an idea what it held down but it would be just a guess at this time. I have as much as I want to uncover to realize it isn't what I thought it was at first. I did post that in one of my former hunts I believe. LOL but maybe I thought I did also!

KCM, I know a lot of luck comes into play when you have a chance to hunt a virgin park. We both know I am a very lucky diver this year. I have found virgin underwater parks before, however, I was told about this one and it had so many visitors and so much traffic, this is a once in a lifetime adventure.

IF, I was on here back in the 1990's, I would have blown every one away with the finds I made in Utah at an old amusement park on land. Over 100 Barber dimes, 6 Barber halves and of course my 1893CC 10.00 gold coin. That park was another dream come true.

Yeah...the old days - when I was too busy doing things that I believed then to be "constructive". Now look at me: old, broken, maybe a bit warped :laughing9:, and like usual, I'm getting to the party WAY late! :tongue3:

The aluminum dog tags Ive found are usually WW I
WTG - on another great hunt :notworthy:

all the cement anchors ive found - usually were all for floating swim platforms - dive ones or slide ones

Very cool whistle! As usual a very productive hunt! :occasion14:

What's it like when one is underwater and lightening strikes it? :icon_scratch:

I haven't had that experience yet! My thought is fish live so why would I be any different? I have never heard of a diver being electrocuted. I guess there is always a first for everything.

Nice finds! congrats!

I'm not tempting anything in a lighting storm. you are a brave soul!

That's cuz those who did, are still out there. ;) LOL

Lightening is electricity - RAW electricity! Water is a great natural ground. As soon as lightening strikes water, the electricity is spread out over a huge area. If you're too close to that area, you'll get zapped. A lot depends on the power of the lightening bolt, the amount and depth of water, and even the salinity of the water - how much salt it has. Clear water disperses electrical charge better than dirty, sediment-filled water. And while the human body "can" conduct electricity (being mostly water), all electricity will always take the path of least resistance - which means it will want to go "around" a diver.
