One of the very best times to dive at bullet beach. Not a single boat out there but mine and nobody to make propeller bait out of me. HOWEVER, when you see my finds you will understand why most detectorists stay very far away from this beach and that is ok by me.

I dig a bottle tops for a certain reason. A lot of Canadian coins ring up the same as them and it is very easy to fan the sand away so I really don't mind them. Not even a piece of silver yesterday or today as far as I know. I do have a ring that I am cleaning which might be but I am not holding my breath.

Clad coins 11 quarters, 16 dimes, 6 nickels (2 Canadian), 29 houses.

2 junk rings and a junk earring and a small aluminum religious medal.

Now for the trash! One 50 cal casing and one 50 cal bullet, 2 live 30 cal, 36 fired casings and 55 bullets. 24, 45 cal bullets. 18 shotgun shell bases. 31 pull tabs, 76 bottle tops. 6 sinkers and a small pile of misc garbage.

This was yesterday and today. Great days to be in the water. You can probably understand why scooping STINKS at this site. Most the bullets will fall through the scoop and you either chase them or leave them till you dive. They are a royal pain as all ring up as coins or gold.

New camera is on the way. Will be taking a lot better pictures next week.

Thats a lot of items!
That explains it, "bullet beach"
Theres bound to be some gold jewelry down there with all that stuff.

what the heck are they shooting out at that beach?

That is a lot of trash and I would expect you get tired. I would enjoy the water itself and would really enjoy all those finds even if trash. Congrats!

what the heck are they shooting out at that beach?

This is where I found the 5 WW1 bombs and the two Lewis machine gun magazines. The planes from Selfridge shot out there from 1916 - who knows when. NO idea what they were shooting at or what they were dropping bombs on. No idea what shot all the 45's. I am thinking a Thompson but not sure. The 30 cals were all shot from Lewis machine guns as far as I know. The shotgun shells were from duck hunters probably.

We have picked up thousands of bullets and cartridges. I also have no idea what shot the 50 cal's. All are dated 1918 - 1926.

All the 30 cal casings are dated 1909 - 1918.

We find a pretty good amount of gold and platinum at this beach. I love it.

With all that lead,,
you need to adjust your weight belt, lol
You are literally cleaning the lake floor.
Congrats on an interesting dive.

Wow! You are seriously dedicated. Hope to see you post some gold soon.

We find WWII items on the Delaware beaches. Lots of fun.

I've never seen any one dig so many bullets.
That's really interesting.

HEY SCUBA LOOKS TO ME AFTER ALL THEM FINDS, YOU HAD A GOOD DAY DIVING .

Thanks all. I get almost a 5 gallon pail full of brass 30 and 50 cal casings every year. I do know once I clean it up others will detect there. There already is one with a CTX that says he can tell the bullets from the good stuff. Maybe and maybe not. I will keep digging every target till I have that place pretty clean. Maybe after I get my camera I will take a picture of what it looks like on the weekends when there are hundreds of boaters moored there and swimmers everywhere.

Fanning is so much faster than scooping. I know where the beep is and can fan my hand over the sand till I see the bullet or the coin or whatever.

I have pulled some very nice gold and platinum out of here and lots of silver. Even old silver. Last year I found a spill of three standing liberty quarters. Finding the bombs and machine gun magazines is awesome also. In fact, I was told by the boat mechanic at the marina the general of Selfridge wants to talk to me. He is very interested in my finds.

Oh well. Another day. I am going to hit another very old swim area today and this should be promising. I have already got two gold from there this year.
