From Roman to Wartime
Almost 2000 years of history in one hunt. The site is close to a roman road on top of a small hill and seems to be frequented over a long period.
Lots of roman pottery let me hope for some finds but only a couple nails and one toasted coin came off the ground.
Better was the first hammered for 2014!
Other finds were the usual trash, lead, nails, two possible chisel, broken buckle, buckle, horse harness mount, tiny barrel tap, decorated belt mount, buttons. The flattened out aluminum button let me think another hammered in the first moment... The other coins with two Silbergroschen and a 1939 10 Pfennig in outstanding condition.
