Three unknowns?

The trigger guard is off what gun?The rusty thing, I thought initially was a horse bit,and the other thing appears to be brass(was hoping it was the handle to a knuckle knife but it is too small)and is broken at the throat.They were at a 1850 site.Thanks!!

The first pic is definitely the bottom part of a trigger guard thats broken. I saw one here like it in What Is It but cant search. Try Kentucky rifle.
