Found a neighborhood being turned into a park. Was digging for 10 minutes when I hear siren, plain clothes police officers with badges and sidearms stop me. Ask me what I'm doing. I said I was metal detecting my new secret honey hole and don't tell anyone about it. One said I wouldn't find anything because he had been digging here for over three months. He asked if I had found anything, I showed him the man's ring, I had dug it in the first 10 minutes. I guess they just wanted to mess with me. I asked if I was allowed to be there and he said it was a new Park, so yes. Another hour later I had found a 1919 wheatie, 1944 merc, and another ring with sterling written inside. And my first and only keeper bottle cap. Great day . Thanks for looking guys. 20170308_173813.jpg20170308_173243.jpg20170308_173223.jpg20170308_173307.jpg20170315_064858.jpg20170308_173438.jpg

Nice finds Capn...jewelry is always welcome in my pouch! And of course, a nice shiny Merc helps too....Ddf

Nice finds, cops detect too, he's probably there right now, lol

Great hunt, Capt.

That honker silver ring looks Native American or Mexican. Any markings saying that? They both should polish up well. Best of luck on that site. Your local lawman needs to remember, it is not always the machine, it is the patience and experience of the user. Sub 8-)

Congratualtions on the nice ring and coin finds! :occasion14:
