I’m staying in Baumholder this weekend. Got off work early this afternoon and it had quit raining so I detected around the old officer’s club and sergeant’s club. Except a land mine my boot found in the form of doggy doo, I had a really good hunt for about 3 hours with just a few light rain showers. Here are the finds, a Boy Scout Badge, says “Bobcats, Cubscouts, BSA” around the legend and a few 50 Cal. bullets.

A 1958 coin, an older button but not very old and two Wheat cents dating 1955 and 1953.

I was lucky with three silver finds today, also found about $2.50 in crusty clad and a few Euro coins. Found this 1951 low grade silver 5 Deutsch Mark coin, my first and I don’t think that is my nick on the edge as it came out of a plug. Also found a 1958 American Rosie, I really enjoy pulling American silver in Germany!

Reverse of the silver coins.

Another rain shower started dumping so I was headed to the car after three hours detecting and was tired from the long week anyway. Was very happy about my finds and I had really enjoyed the hunt. I was swinging and walking at a full stride and got a nice signal. Swung over it a few times and it was breaking up, figured it was another dime so I dug. Was surprised to dig a chain bracelet with a sterling silver mount piece! The obverse of the bracelet, says “RITA W. PRIBNOW”.

Reverse of the bracelet,“PRESENTED BY G.S. TROOP 75” STERLING. I would assume 75 refers to 1975, I am not sure what G.S. TROOP is, maybe General Support Troop? Hopefully my older military friends can help ID this bracelet, I was in communications in the military and Troop Units usually refer to some combat arms branch. It was a nice hunt today, bad weather in the forecast but you just have to dress for it if you want to get out swinging, as long as it does not freeze, LOL. Happy Leap Year! HH, Mike

I would have to think it should be easy enough to find the owner of the bracelet.
Would be cool to return it to the girl after loosing some 20 years ago.
Let us know how you make out, assuming your interested in returning it to the little girl.......
Just my opionion

An excellent day's finds. A nice looking German coin, a sweet Rosie, and the silver bracelet. dg39 in correct with his identification. It was given to the gal by Girl Scout Troop 75. It looks like both the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts were using the area. You should find more. WTG

With the permission of the finder of the bracelet, I think it would be cool if we grouped our resources and found the original owner
of course, with permission
I'm a HUGE fan of returning found items.
the value of returning a lost item has always been worth more to me than the value of the found item, that would just sit in my treasure chest.
your thoughts on this?
Just my opinion

Silver bracelet
You may see some news about USA girl scout in BAUMHOLDER, Germany

http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=53496&archive=true

and I suspect it is a souvenir to from the girl scout troop to Rita Pribnow thanks her as volunteer when she was leaving in 1975.
Rita Pribnow might be a wife to the US Army staying in BAUMHOLDER, Germany.
I suspect 75 is 1975 not troop 75 because the troop number should be stamped immediately follow ( there is enough space if calculated properly.)
Stamping fee is per letter, so stamping 75 should save some money than 1975~~~

Might be someone can search USA Army Vet site for Mr. Pribnow staying in BAUMHOLDER around 1975.

Just my wild guess.

Thanks all, I had several responses IDing the bracelet as a Girl Scout award. What's funny is, while I was posting the finds, I was eating a few Girl Scout cookies, LOL, peanut butter Tagalongs to be exact. I guess you can lead a mule to water but... I registered the bracelet on the Girl Scouts official web site, maybe they can help find the owner. Would be a joy to return it so any help would be appreciated!!! HH, Mike
